Motivation Tips
Most people fail in achieving their weight loss goals not because the program they are following is inneffective but rather because they stop doing the basics that will allow them to get the results they want. In other words they lose their motivation and stop taking action which will of course mean that they either gain the weight back which they initially lost or they make no further progress.
The Power of Goal Setting:
There was a study done in a University where the graduates were surveyed about their future plans. Part of the survey involved asking the group what percentage had clearly defined written goals both short and long term. Only five percent answered that they had actually a written plan of what they wanted to accomplish over the next 5 to 15 years. A few years later the same group was followed up on and it was discovered that the net worth of the 5% that had written goals was worth more than the other 95% combined.
This study proves that writing goals down is very powerful and can help you to accomplish more even when it comes to losing weight. You need to decide what is the ideal weight for you and then set a realistic date to accomplish that goal and then be sure to write this date down on a piece of paper or some document that you look at at least once daily. This will help to program your mind for what you want to accomplish so that you will take the necessary actions with greater ease.
If the goal of reaching your ideal weight seems very far then you need to break it down into smaller goals. For instance if your goal is to lose a 100 pounds in order to reach your ideal weight then consider breaking it down into losing 10 pounds a month until you reach your ideal weight.
What if I do not accomplish a goal I set?
Remember that just because you failed to achieve a goal does not make you a failure. Learn from whatever mistakes you may have made and set new goals.
