In this article I have listed some of the most common complaints people face who are on a weight loss plan and how to get pass them.
''I feel weak and tired''
In some people, overeating stimulates their nervous system much like a strong cup of coffee, causing sweating and making their pulse more rapid. After a while, this just seems normal to some overweight people. As soon as these people begin to diet, their nervous system settles down to normal and they complain of not feeling as alert or energetic. This means you have normal energy levels and need proper rest and sleep when you get tired. After a period of adjustment, you will feel more energetic again.
You may also feel weak and tired if you don't consume your healthy meals at regular times. Are you accidently forgetting to eat lunch, or are you skipping meals in an attempt to lose weight faster? This is a mistake, since you will always eat more trying to recover from fatigue than you save by skipping a meal.
''I'm not regular.''
Whenever you change your diet, your digestive function can change. You may not be having regular bowel movements, or you may be producing extra gas. You'll feel better if you consume 25 grams of fiver a day. The easiest way to get fiber is to eat fruits and vegetables. If you can't get the 25 grams from fruits and vegetables then there are fiber supplements available with a mixture of soluble and insoluble fibers that can help with regularity. Some of the newest fibers can be mixed into beverages without giving any gritty taste fibers and can provide 5 grams of fiber per tablespoon.
''I'm hungry all the time.''
There are usually two different causes for true hunger. First, you may be forgetting meals or letting too much time elapse between meals. Put yourself on a regular schedule-such as 7A.M, 11A.M., 4 P.M., and 7 P.M.- for your meals and snacks. The second common cause is inadequate protein intake. Check your meal and make sure that it has as much protein per serving as you're counting on. Also, be sure you are physically hungry and not just craving your favorite foods.
''I have a headache.''
Constipation, stress, and missed meals are the most common causes of headaches when you're in your first week of dieting. If you're constipated, try one of the preceding suggestions. Stress headaches begin with muscle spasms in the shoulders and spread to the scalp, where the spasms cut off the blood flow to the scalp, causing a headache. It's important not to miss meals.
Some people also get headaches from caffeine withdrawal, but as far as I'm concerned, there's no need for you to cut out caffeine. Coffee in the usual amounts of 1 to 2 cups per day is safe during dieting, and may actually help with your weight loss.
''I feel cold.''
Your body temperature actually increases when you overeat. Many of people sweat before starting a diet, and then one week later they feel terrific. On the other hand, dieting may make you more sensitive to temperature changes. Exercising, drinking warm tea and coffee, and dressing warmly in cold weather are all good solutions to this common complaint. While unusual, feeling cold can be a symptom of low thyroid gland function. So, if a cold feeling persists, talk to your doctor.
You won't necessarily have any of the complaints I have listed. Don' fall for the old medical student problem of reading about a disease and getting it.
